You Asked, I Listened: The Story Behind the Tranquillo App

The idea for the Tranquillo app began quietly—more like a whisper than a plan. “Tap on the shoulder” moments. These were repeated words from clients, like a gentle pattern I couldn’t ignore. They eventually grew roots and sprouted an idea.

Some of these requests sounded like this:

“If only I could take you home with me.”

“Thank you for that practice. When I try to do it at home without your guidance, it’s really hard. I wish I could listen to you.”

“I’m searching all the apps, and finding a voice I like is really challenging.”

“I just can’t find a voice I connect with”

“Are there any Aussie voices? Everything seems to be American.”

A Voice Worth Sharing

Then there was that moment in Rishikesh.

A spiritual woman dressed in white took my hand, pressed my fingers with quiet certainty, and said:
“It’s time for you to share your voice.”

And in that moment, something clicked.
Tears welled up and slipped down my cheeks.
I knew then that she was right. It was time to speak out loud.

I began with simple voice memos on my phone—somewhat rough recordings I sent to clients…they were a beginning. They likely disappeared into the vortex of their phones, but the seed had been planted.

A Toolkit of Support

The idea of creating an app took shape more seriously toward the end of the Covid era. So many people—my counselling clients and yoga students alike—were experiencing heightened distress and anxiety.

Talking through our challenges is helpful. But so is having a toolkit of practices to support wellbeing between sessions. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. We each need to discover what helps us, individually.

The Heart of Tranquillo

This app is a distillation of everything I know and love, and what I’ve found helpful personally and professionally.

Inside, you’ll find practices for:

  • Grounding
  • Gentle relaxations
  • Body scans
  • Simple yoga and movement
  • Mindfulness
  • Soothing affirmations
  • Rest and self-care

It draws from evidence-based approaches, neuroscience, ancient traditions, common sense, and the work of respected thinkers, researchers, artists, and educators. And my deep respect for the wisdom that lives in our own bodies.

A Blend of Knowledge and Heart

If we’ve met—or even if you’ve just followed my work—you’ll know I’m a registered counsellor, yoga teacher, trauma-sensitive trainer, and lifelong learner. But more than that, I’m someone who believes in small acts of care. I believe healing happens not just in the big sessions or breakthroughs, but in the gentle in-between moments. The pauses. The permission to rest.

Why Tranquillo?

Because sometimes we all need a moment of quiet.
A space to breathe.
A soft place to land.

The Tranquillo App brings that space to you—wherever you are.

I hope it feels like a warm hand on your shoulder. A deep exhale. A little piece of peace in your pocket.

Wishing you peace and sending love.
