What is Trauma Aware Training ?

The current environment has created more anxiety than many of us have experienced before. There are many reasons for us to be stressed. People feel traumatised.

Trauma Aware Training will give you a broad understanding of how to apply a trauma informed lens with people in your world.  You’ll become trauma aware with skills to use in any aspect of your life.

Trauma Aware Training help you to:

Small Changes = Huge Difference

Learning how to be more supportive and trauma aware

We’ll explain how making some small changes to your choice of words, questions and gestures, modifying the space/environment can profoundly improve the experience of people you impact.

Learn how to offer more safety in your interactions. When safety is the prime goal, we help others feel more connected, less anxious, less stressed and calmer. Especially those that have experienced trauma, experiencing stress, prolonged grief and overwhelming life events.

We simply don’t know what people are holding inside when we meet them.

Learn how to modify your behaviour so that you reduce negative impacts for more people. As we become more trauma aware we demonstrate a high level of care, greater understanding and allow for more compassion and kindness.

You’ll develop greater personal awareness in this training.

The Polyvagal theory helps us understand the state of the nervous system, how to provide greater safety, increase connection and the promote deeper connection with your work mates, family, clients and broader community.

Using Polyvagal theory principles we’ll explore ways to help people feel safe and how to provide psychological safety. This will reduce the incidence of triggers in your community- triggers are frequently unseen but deeply felt.
