Exploring the top of our block 🌱🌾🌱🌾

I joined the local bushcare group @sinclairsgully seed collecting session last week. It’s opened my eyes to seeing and discovering the native plants, grasses and seeds. We are looking at ways we can encourage more diversity to restore the landscape on our patch 🙏

And then I sat on the newly fallen log and gazed into the valley views and experienced meditative calmness right here in my new happy place. ✨✨✨✨

I love this quote. The way I practise releasing is mostly via my exhalation.

🌀Breathing in gently with kindness and steadiness.

🌀Exhaling all the way. Releasing what no longer serves me. Allowing each exhalation to be a little longer and stronger than the one before.

Regulated. Are you? Mmm… I’m not always calm. Nor should I want the mono life of calm - the highs and lows add colour and texture to our experience of life.

🪷A regulated nervous system is one that is able to ride the waves of stress. And not feel completely overwhelmed or overtaken by the stress.

🪷A regulated nervous system is able to ride the waves of stress and return to balance with ease.

🪷Many of us have had to learn how. How to calm down. And what helps me may not be so useful for you.

🪷Spending time developing your own tool kit, or your ‘go to’ list of calming and self regulating activities is super useful. It’s one of the things I always help people create in their counselling sessions.

🪷Trying out different ideas and expanding your “tool kit” and practicing calming down is essential for a well balanced life

Double greens. Spinach soup made with onions, garlic, boiled potato, butter, olive oil, miso, ground cumin, coriander seeds and black pepper. Charred broccoli baked in hot oven with a dressing of pepper, salt, and olive oil. Bake until crispy edges, cut up. Place soup in bowls and pile with broccoli, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese and toasted almonds. Healthy deliciousness 🤍🤍
