PRIVATE CLASSES
These one-hour sessions are designed to calm your nervous system and help manage symptoms of anxiety, stress, and support trauma recovery. If you’ve been thinking about trying yoga but the idea of attending a group yoga class /studio is challenging for whatever reason then private sessions may suit you. Or you may simply want to enjoy a calming session by yourself.

Typically, your group may have some or little yoga experience. (Experienced yogis will be right at home)
The team could benefit from a soothing yoga session to

Provide your own yoga mat, a blanket, cushion, or a pillow; whatever you feel will make the class more soothing for you. Yoga mats can be supplied.

Jane Macnaught
Jane offers a yoga practice that is soothing for the nervous system, ideal for anyone that feels stressed, anxious, overworked, and/or exhausted. All her classes are trauma sensitive, rhythmic, easeful and calming. She is known for her creative, holistic, warm, gentle and friendly approach. Jane will inspire you to learn more about the much needed and burgeoning field of trauma sensitive practices.
Jane Macnaught founded Tranquillo Place, a small private counselling practice in Mona Vale providing the local community and beyond with her extensive clinical experience in trauma recovery & healing, grief & loss, complex trauma, intergenerational trauma, PTSD, and adult survivors of childhood abuse & trauma.
She specialises in working holistically and using somatic, and creative modalities that are person centred, intuitive, practical and strengths focused.
Since 2016 she has been studying and delivering trauma sensitive trainings and collaborating with a wide range of yoga teachers and wellness practitioners and therapists to offer more trauma aware services across the Northern Beaches. Further studies with international trauma specialists and researchers led Jane to complete yoga teacher training (350hr).
Research continues to provide evidence that talking therapy is not enough for trauma recovery – all of Jane’s clients and students benefit from her yoga informed therapeutic style.
Penny Lucas
Penny’s yoga practice embraces the slow pace of gentle and restorative yoga that grounds and centres the body and mind to nourish the nervous system. Penny is known for her calming presence and encourages students to attune to their own body and breath.
Penny began her yoga explorations in inner city Melbourne and after moving to the northern beaches completed her yoga teacher training in 2016. She continued her training with restorative yoga teacher training in 2018 and has been teaching classes that combine gentle yoga, restorative yoga and yoga nidra locally ever since. Penny believes these practices are as close to a panacea for our times as you can get.
Penny’s yoga practice is coupled with her psychology background and counselling work which enables her to provide clients with a supportive space to connect and find balance. Clients and yoga students alike appreciate her down-to-earth approach.
